Partner terms.
Effective 6 October 2026
These terms apply between StofaHotels ("Stofa") and each hotel that sells its rooms on Stofa (the "hotel"). They apply from the moment a hotel connects in the partner cabinet, together with anything agreed with that hotel in writing.
1.What Stofa does
Stofa presents the hotel to guests, takes bookings and passes them to the hotel through Travia. The hotel provides the stay, and the contract for the accommodation is between the guest and the hotel. Stofa does not buy rooms or resell them.
2.Joining
To go live a hotel completes verification in the cabinet (company, owner and payout details), accepts the cooperation request from Stofa in Travia, and is approved as a merchant by our payment provider, Paystrax. Stofa may decline or pause a listing that does not meet these terms.
3.Commission
Each hotel's commission rate is agreed with that hotel individually and shown in its partner cabinet. It is a percentage of the amount the guest pays for the stay, and it also applies to cancellation and no-show fees the hotel keeps. Nothing is due on bookings that are cancelled free of charge or refunded.
The rate can change by written agreement, or by Stofa giving 30 days' notice. A new rate applies only to bookings made after it takes effect; a booking keeps the rate in force when it was made.
4.Payments and payouts
Guests pay through Paystrax, when and how the booking terms describe, into the hotel's own Paystrax merchant account. Stofa's commission and Paystrax's fees are deducted, and the hotel receives the rest on the Paystrax settlement cycle after the guest's stay. Each payout can be matched to its bookings in the cabinet.
5.Rates, availability and honouring bookings
Rooms, rates and availability come from the hotel's system through Travia, and the hotel keeps them correct. A confirmed booking must be honoured at the price booked. If the hotel cannot honour it, it arranges an equivalent or better stay nearby at its own cost and tells the guest and Stofa at once.
6.Cancellation terms, refunds and chargebacks
The hotel sets its cancellation terms in Travia; Stofa shows them to guests before they book and applies them. As the merchant for its bookings, the hotel bears refunds and chargebacks on them, except where a booking went wrong through Stofa's own error.
7.Content
The hotel lets Stofa use its name, photos, descriptions and offers to list and promote the hotel, for as long as it is listed, without charge. The hotel confirms it has the rights to that content and that it is accurate, and can change it in the cabinet at any time.
8.Guest data
Stofa and the hotel each handle guest data as separate controllers, each under data protection law. The hotel uses the guest data it receives from Stofa to host the guest and to meet its legal duties, and not to market to Stofa guests without their consent. Each party keeps that data secure and tells the other without delay about a breach that affects it.
9.Term and ending
These terms run until either side ends them with 30 days' written notice, or at once after a serious breach that is not put right within 14 days of notice. Bookings confirmed before the end are still honoured and paid under these terms.
10.Liability and law
Neither side is liable to the other for indirect loss or lost profit. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited. These terms are governed by Icelandic law, and the Reykjavík District Court (Héraðsdómur Reykjavíkur) hears disputes.
